Who's the fastest?

From KTM Canada

ST-BRUNO, QC -- If you have already attended an enduro or hare scramble race in Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, Ontario or anywhere else in Canada, you have probably heard some very fast local Pro riders challenging each other: “I am the fastest off road guy in the country” or “I can beat anybody in a tight woods section…"

Canada is a particularly large country and very fast Pros seldom get an opportunity to prove their off road racing value nationwide. It is a fact that the best Eastern riders rarely compete against the best Western ones.

The 2006 KTM Canada Enduro Challenge, sponsored by KTM Canada, in association with Austrian Vacations, has been created to allow the top Canadian Enduro riders to race at the same time, on the same track. More than a race, the 2006 KTM Enduro Challenge is a response to the crucial and endless question: WHO’S THE FASTEST ENDURO RIDER IN CANADA?

The 2006 KTM Canada Enduro Challenge will be held during the Canadian round of the prestigious World Enduro Championship in Parry Sound, ON on July 15-16, where the best Canadian off road riders are expected to attend.

The KTM Challenge’s rule is simple: based on the two-day WEC event final ranking, the overall top-finishing Canadian rider, regardless of brand, will be awarded a FREE trip to Austria to visit the impressive KTM factory and experience the KTM “Ready to Race” philosophy!

Heading west?

From CMRC Racing

In an attempt to get more eastern riders to the Western Canadian Amateur National in Raymond, AB, Barry Ferguson of Cliffshore Racing is providing a truck and trailer to haul up to 30 bikes and gear for anyone interested in racing the event.

The event takes place from Thursday June 29 until Saturday July 1, but the rig will be in Calgary a week earlier for the Pro national at the Wild Rose MX Park.

“It’s a cheap way for a family who has an Amateur, Pro and Women’s rider to race at Calgary and then the Western Amateur National the following week,” says Ferguson.

The cost to transport bike and gear per person is $300, and $600 for anyone interested in shipping out their street bike. The minimum number of riders needed to cover the travel cost is 13, up to a maximum of 30. Ferguson says he needs to have the minimum number by mid-May in order to get everything organized. If he has that minimum number by then, he will take entries up until the truck leaves on Monday June 19 after the Wheatley provincial.

This is a great opportunity for eastern riders to experience the WCAN, a great race track and possibly add another championship to their resume. It’s also a chance for women racers to attend the Women’s national in Calgary the weekend prior to the CWAN and for MX1 Pro riders to race an additional round before the series resumes back east.

For additional information or to sign up, please contact Barry Ferguson at 905-753-1112 or email him at cliffshore@bellnet.ca. You can also log on to his website at cliffshore.com.

A leading manufacturer of high-performance suspension systems for racing and recreational motorsport applications, Elka Suspension offers personalized service, quality products and fast delivery time. The Holeshot Program is exclusive to Elka Suspension authorized dealers. It will begin the weekend of May 20-21 in Millfield, Ohio, during the eighth round of the GNCC Series and then take place at each round of the GNC and GNCC Series.

Throughout the season at national-level events where our race support vehicle is present, some of our preferred authorized dealers located in those areas will be invited to join our technicians for suspension-tuning seminars. They will be able to learn more about our products and how to get the most performance out of them through proper adjustments. They will also be invited to watch the races with us in order to see the products in action and better understand what makes our suspension so special. Our professional riders, such as John Natalie Jr. and William Yokley, will be available to meet our dealers after the races.

In this racing environment, the Holeshot Program will help our dealers improve their knowledge of our products as well as help them increase their sales. On the flip side, customers, too, will benefit from the Holeshot Program by receiving better advice and service from their dealers, who understand their customers needs and how to fulfill them.
